Saigon New Year
We flew in to Ho Chi Minh City, aka Saigon, on February 10, the first day of Lunar New Year (called Tet in Vietnam).
We had no idea that we had just arrived for the biggest party of the year.
Streets full of people all dressed up, whole streets closed off with giant public art, vibrant colors, flowers and dragons everywhere - it was sensory overload from beginning to end.
We had a blast just being part of the party, checking out temples and shrines, and seeking out delicious vegan vietnamese food.
Photos don’t do justice to the sheer numbers, noise, colors and chaos of one of South East Asia’s most populous cities on its biggest week of the year, but here’s what we were able to capture with our cameras 😄.

We were delighted to see two blocks of the downtown street festival dedicated to books and reading. We discovered that Ho Chi Minh City is home to a large book industry and bookish culture.

More Vietnam adventures to come, stay tuned!
