Our second day in Kyoto, we woke up at 6am and caught a train to Universal Studios Japan in Osaka!
We navigated trains, tickets, passes, QR codes, wristbands to finally get to the park, we were stoked! Destination: Super Nintendo World!
The first couple of warm days in Kyoto turned to rain but we weren’t going to let that stop us.
Wristbands activated! In the tube we go!As a video game enthusiast, it’s hard to beat the first impression of Super Nintendo World. It’s a video game world brought to life. The kids’ wristbands would make the blocks light up and make other fun things happen in the park.Turned out the princess was in another castle, but that’s OK!Before lining up for rides, we went to a game-themed cafe to eat.In Kinnopio’s Cafe, everything is based on the Super Mario Bros. theme.A bit surreal, but fun.Fin is powering up.Ella got a pizza pocket shaped like a mushroom.Tira misu shaped like a block, of course. That was fun! After doing the Mario Kart ride, we left to explore more of Universal Studios. We met minions! We made a withdrawal to fund our evil plans! We rode the Flying Dinosaur, the scariest roller coaster ever!Next we headed to Harry Potter World.Famous trains!Crooked chimneys!Flying pigs!Abandoned cars!Wizarding shops!More wizarding shops! We lined up for 2 hours in the rain for the Harry Potter Forbidden Journey ride 🙃.It was a very fun ride - we were happy but chilled.Hot butterbeer to the rescue!Yummy. What a day!
