Yogyakarta Sunrise
We departed at 4:00 am to reach Punthuk Setumbu for the sunrise. For the day, we hired the driver Sundari, who proved to be an amazing guide. A short trek from the parking lot led us to the viewpoint. In the distance, we could see notable landmarks such as the Gereja Ayam (aka the Chicken Church), Borobudur Temple, and Mount Merapi — an active volcano that was releasing smoke and volcanic ash.
